Deriv’s last digit Matches and differs is a unique way of trading binary options. Part of gambling since it involves predicting a number.

Trading Mechanism

Step 1: Choose a symbol of your choice or preference.

Step 2: Choose tick size. Tick size can vary from 1 to 10.

Step 3: Choose a digit from 0 to 9 that you think will be the last digit of the symbol after a certain number of ticks.

For example, if you choose the digit to be 0 and you are expecting that after 5 ticks the last digit will not be 0, then you need to choose trade type ‘Differs’. If you think after 5 ticks the last digit will be exactly 0. Then you will choose ‘Matches’.

Step 4: Choose the Stake size. If you choose 1 USD, the payouts of your investment for each type will be shown below the trade type options.

The above picture shows that we have chosen 10 USD as a stake amount and the payouts for both types are displayed below.  809.10% return if chosen ‘Matches’ and 9.90% return if chosen ‘Differs’.

Note: Return depends on the odds. If the trade has more odd chance of winning, then the return will be high (just like a casino). If the trade has a higher chance to win then it will have a lower return. In this case, the chance of getting an exact match is extremely odd, that’s why the return is also as high as 800%, 8X return on your investment.

Tick Statistics:

It is an important component. Here the statistic displays the last 1000 ticks’ last digit number and their occurrence percentages. One must not ignore this little info before entering a trade here. It plays a huge role in the chance of winning.

Strategy:

You need to look at the last 1000 tick statistics, the green circle around the number means that number occurred for maximum time. Similarly, the red circle around the number means that the number has a minimum occurrence.

Here we will only trade on ‘Differ’ as it has a higher winning rate. For ‘Differs’ we need to choose the number in the red circle. Because it has the lowest occurrence rate as the last digit.

It will be safer to choose a tick size between 5 to 7. Some traders choose ‘Matches’ with numbers in green circles but it has a very low and odd chance of winning.

Tips for Matches: If you plan to choose matches, focus on numbers that appear most frequently in the last 25 and 100 ticks. For example, if digit ‘0’ appears 12% of the time over 25 ticks and 15% over 100 ticks, you have a 12-15% chance of winning a digit matches trade with ‘0’.

Tips for Differs: Digit Differ trades offer lower payouts but higher winning chances. Statistically, if the digit ‘0’ appears 12-15% of the time, you have an 85% chance of winning with a digit differs trade.

Example

Here, it’s been shown that 4 has appeared 9% of the time, which is displayed in red as the lowest occurrence.

Therefore, we have selected 4 as the number that will not come after 5 ticks as the last digit. We have opened a Differ trade type.

  • Tick size: 5
  • Number selected: 4
  • Payout: 9.90%

We have won the trade!

Money Management:

Note that with this strategy you will get 9.9% per trade, but you will lose 100% if the trade fails. Therefore, it is recommended that consecutive trades not be continued for too long. If you win 5-6 times consecutively per day, It is good for your portfolio. It’s advisable to not be greedy and go overboard.

Conclusion: Since it is part of the gambling section, we strictly recommend understanding the risk thoroughly and trading only when you feel lucky and do not invest too much out of greed.

Good Luck and happy trading.
