Automated trading is no longer just for experts. With the Deriv Bot, even beginners can create and run automated strategies in just a few clicks. This guide explains how to build, test, and run your own Deriv Bot strategy, while also highlighting a safer alternative for manual trading using the Hydra Trend Rider indicator.
What is the Deriv Bot?
The Deriv Bot dashboard is an algorithmic trading tool built into your Deriv account. It allows you to design block-based trading logic, import XML scripts, and execute trades automatically based on your conditions. Once configured, your bot will monitor the market, place trades, and manage positions for you.

How to Access Deriv Bot
To start, log in to your Deriv account and click on the “Deriv Bot” option from the top menu. The interface is intuitive — drag, drop, and connect blocks to form your trading logic.
Exploring Deriv Preset Strategies
If you’re a beginner, Deriv provides a few ready-made bots under “Quick Strategy.” These are designed to help you get started fast, but they have limitations. Most of them use Martingale or similar gambling-style progressions, which may lead to significant losses in volatile markets.
- Martingale & Reverse Martingale
- D’Alembert & Reverse D’Alembert
- Oscar’s Grind
- 1–3–2–6 method
⚠️ Tip: Preset bots can be fun for testing, but they’re not built for serious traders. It’s better to design your own strategy with technical logic and risk control.
Understanding Bot Building Blocks
Deriv Bot works on a visual programming concept. You use building blocks to define how your bot trades. Each block serves a specific purpose:
- Trade Parameters: Select market, trade type (Rise/Fall, Buy/Sell), duration, and stake.
- Purchase Conditions: Define when your bot should enter a trade.
- Sell Conditions: Add rules for exiting early if the trade turns unfavorable.
- Restart Conditions: Automatically trigger a new trade after one closes.
- Analysis Blocks: Add technical indicators like moving averages or candlestick logic.
- Utility Blocks: Use text, loops, math functions, and even custom logic to refine your strategy.
Build Your First Deriv Bot
Let’s build a simple, reliable bot using a Moving Average Crossover strategy for Crash 500 Index on Deriv Multiplier.
Buy Condition: Buy if the market price is above the 50 SMA.
Stop Loss: $0.50 per trade.
Take Profit: $0.25 per trade.
Stake: $10.
Filter: Run only if the previous trade was a winner (avoids consecutive losses).
This setup uses a small reward-to-risk ratio but performs well in synthetic markets like Crash 500, where trends are sharp and consistent.

Running Your Bot
Once everything is set, click Start. Monitor your trades through the right-side dashboard — you’ll see trade logs, profit/loss, and running statistics. After three winning trades, stop the bot manually to protect your gains. This approach follows a safe money management strategy many pro traders use with Deriv multipliers.
Important: Bots can help automate trading but don’t guarantee profits. Always supervise your bot — leaving it running overnight without monitoring is risky.
Overwhelmed? Try a Simpler Alternative
If bots feel too complex, you can achieve similar precision using the Hydra Trend Rider indicator on MT5. Hydra provides real-time trade alerts and multi-timeframe analysis, letting you manually place trades on the Deriv web platform with full control over your capital.
Set Hydra alerts, and whenever you receive a signal on your MT5 chart, open the same trade on Deriv. This keeps your trading flexible while using the same market logic as a bot — without giving control to an algorithm.

Why Hydra Trading Can Be Safer
With Hydra, you get live trend signals, manual control, and instant alerts — no code or bot management needed. This means fewer errors, less anxiety, and smarter decision-making. Hydra helps you enter trades during turning points and stay aligned with trend strength for higher accuracy.

Final Thoughts
The Deriv Bot is an incredible tool for automating trades once you understand its structure and limitations. For beginners, start with small stakes and short sessions. Build your confidence by testing different bot logic setups in demo mode before using real money.
If you prefer hands-on control, combine manual trading with Hydra’s signals — it’s safer, flexible, and equally powerful. Whether you automate or trade manually, remember the golden rule: risk small, stay consistent, and never let a bot trade unattended.

Hello Adeosun, did you upload the bot at Deriv DBot/Binary section?
If yes, then when you will click on the play button it will keep trading with your selected trading account even after you log out.
We will recommend, first try it with a demo account. If it works as you expected, then select the real account to start trading.
